Purpose: To fund innovative new research projects that address major challenges in applied human genomics and/or precision medicine.
Funding: Successful grants will be awarded up to $50,000 for a one-year period. Investigators will be able to apply for a one year no cost extension if justified.
Application Deadline: The Application is due by 5:00 pm March 15, 2019, with funding commencing July 1, 2019. The funding start date may be postponed up to 6 months at the PI’s request for grants awaiting IRB approval.
General Information: Only one Principal Investigator is allowed per application. The Principal Investigator must hold a UW Madison faculty appointment and can submit only one application per competition.
Collaborations are encouraged but must be justified in the application. External collaborators are allowed although no funds can be dispersed outside of UW – Madison.
Applicants may request up to $50,000 with a budget justification included in the Application.
An internal peer-review system will award funding. At the discretion of the review committee chair, an ad hoc external review of a particular application may be solicited.
Project End Requirements: The Principal Investigator must submit a summary and outcomes of the completed research at the end of the grant.
